A Technology Free Weekend

This weekend Mr. Milk and I decided to try to put our technology addiction aside, and see what it would be like to live without these things for a couple of days.

So that also meant no facebook, messenger, twitter, and all the other countless apps and ways every single person in your life can reach you! It was great!

We woke up, grabbed some bagels for breakfast, went to the bank to get some chores out of the way, donated some clothes and shoes to charity, went for a pretty drive, and grabbed some burritos for lunch. We just hung out, chatted, laughed, window shopped, and had some real alone time. Sunday consisted of some grocery shopping, assembling invitations (pics are on Mr. Milk's camera so will get those ASAP), having some pizza, and watching TV. I think we both needed and enjoyed the detox. Hope you all had a good weekend!

Have you tried being sans technology for a bit? How did it go?

Wow that is amazing. I'm kind of embarrassed about how much I rely on technology. I'm pretty sure that giving up all those things for a weekend would be completely painful for me. :)

Maybe we will have to try that sometimes. It would be easier if M didn't work every Saturday.

Sounds great! I checked out for most of the day on Saturday, too, while we visited a couple wineries out in the country. It was fantastic to just relax and focus on spending time together!

I think that's such a brilliant idea. It would be so great to just get back to just the two of us. I'm pretty sure I can do it but Mr. Muscle would go into some kinda cardiac problem. I'm happy both of you were able to do it.

That's wonderful! I think everyone needs a technology free day every once in a while.

I think that sounds like such a great weekend that you both needed. :) I can't believe how much we rely on our cell phones and laptops these days. I feel so naked without my phone on me. LOL

I seriously DESPERATELY need to try this!! I think if S and I didn't depend on our phones to be in-touch with each other maybe this would be easier. Hmmmm... one of these days!!

Sounds wonderful! My fiance and I took a long walk around the big park near our apartment on Saturday. It was nice to get outside and spend some uninterrupted time together :o)

Wow good job!

Sounds really nice. I'm not sure how I would handle a whole weekend without my computer or cell phone

you are stronger than me to be able to part with your electronic devices. while i can say 'no' to the computer and tv, my blackberry is always with me. sounds like you had an awesome weekend :) excited to see your invites.

That sounds so great! I don't think we'd be able to do it!

I think I would twitch and start to get the shakes if I tried this but BRAVO to you for being able to do it! :)

Guess I won't have a choice soon since we're basically going to be technology free on our honeymoon.

What a neat idea. I've tried, but never works out for me, unless I go out of the city, somewhere in the middle of forrest where is no internet connection.

Ann, visiting from SITS.
