Updates

Sorry to have been MIA on you guys. There isn't really any particular good reason for this. I think we are just adjusting and getting sucked into everyday life. Mr. Milk is getting along well in his new job. He's realizing how much learning there is to do in a new job, especially one that involves a bit of a career change. I have total faith that he will overcome all these mental hurdles very soon, just as he typically does. I think the fact that we are apart again and don't have our own space is also adding to the stress. But we are making do with frequent visits. We've spent every weekend together so far, and have even gotten a few mid-week visits in. I've also had the flu the last 4 days. I don't remember the last time I felt this bad! Luckily though I am feeling better today, and even have a bit of an appetite!

Anyway, we are finalizing the contracts on the apartment I showed you in the previous post. Some of you thought it might be by the beach and all I have to say to that is "I WISH!!" :) There was so much sand around because its a new neighborhood without many buildings next to it but some construction nearby. I was able to get the interior pics from Mr. Milk, so here they are

The kitchen (it's open plan with dining and living room)

The living room (I have my back to the kitchen when taking the pic)

Dining room (as you can see there is still work going on). The smallish balcony will quite comfortably host Mr. Milk's brand new bbq!

This is the balcony from the 2nd bedroom. It's larger than it looks from this picture. We are planning on using this room as a spare bedroom/office and using this balcony more than the one next to the dining room.

For some reason, neither of us thought it was important to take a picture of the master bedroom! Go figure. Oh well, you get an idea of what the apartment looks like. I went to a furniture store with my mom the other day to have a first look. I have to say, it was a lot of fun! There are so many options out there and I can't wait to go with Mr. Milk  and pick some things out.

On the wedding front, there is no news. There is a list of things we need to do (that couldn't be done from Canada) and I am planning on starting on those within the next week. There are just over 3 months left until the wedding, so its definitely turning into crunch time :)

Haha, I thought your apartment was near the beach, too. We all can dream, right? It's so nice to have that balcony space . . . very rare here in San Francisco, as I'm sure you know.

I'm so glad to hear that you guys are settling in and that Mr. Milk likes his new job. The new place looks like it's going to be fantastic! (By the beach or not!) I wish we had a balcony.

Boo to the flu! :(

But yea for furniture shopping!

I remember when I moved into my first apartment all by myself (I had a roommate for most of my single life until about 4 years before Mr Fix It and I got married.) When I got to shop for my own furniture it was just the best feeling. So much fun!

Three months to go...I remember telling people at a few months out that most of the wedding stuff was done...I was just waiting for the final weeks when things like seating charts and meal selections had to be finalized. :)

sounds like you were keeping going, keeping going, keeping going and then when you finally got there and got to relax a little the flu came and gave you a kick just to remind you how stressed you were - damn those defences.

Beautiful looking apartment and yay that Mr Milk is enjoying his new job.
Enjoy making your home together.
