Motivation Issues

This week I am having trouble getting motivated to do anything. Even cooking which I usually enjoy has become a drag cause I have no idea what to make! Maybe its the move and living in limbo, with half our stuff gone and no where really to put the rest other than suitcases. Even calling the bridal store to ask them to prep my dress for pick up didn't do it for me.

Mr. Milk and I went to the mall last night looking for a gift for his boss. We kind of don't know what to get. He wants it to be meaningful and symbolic of his appreciation for all his boss has done for him (he's been more of a mentor than a boss). But we came up with nothing. We'll try again tomorrow, but if you ladies have any ideas, your help is appreciated!

The trip wasn't a total miss though, as yours truly bought a box of 3 pairs of false eyelashes for 10 bucks! I've never used them, but love the look on all of you who did, so will be trying them out before the wedding. Hopefully they look just as good as yours!

I can't wait to see how the eye lashes come out. I'm curious myself on how they would look on me but worried it's too hard to apply!

I definitely think that it's the move putting you into this funk. As soon as it's done you are going to feel SO much more like yourself!!

Maybe trying on false eyelashes will make you feel better! Make sure to take pics so we can see! I wish I had done falsies for my wedding.

bummer about the demotivation..hopefully the eyelashes will help!

I agree that your funk is mostly because of the move. Hopefully your eyelashes will brighten things up, even just a little. (hugs)

Your life is totally changing (though of course you'll be close to family and friends) so it's natural to kinda get into a funk. Take some time for yourselves and good luck with shopping!

Sorry you’re in a bit of a slump, but I do think it’s probably the stress of the move getting to you. I’d definitely feel completely overwhelmed if I was in your shoes! I think you’ll like the flase lashes, but just be ready for them to feel a bit strange when they’re first on. It took me about five minutes to get used to mine.

it sounds like you are probably just exhausted!! moving is so stressful and the change of a move can lead to depression too (at least it did for me) it's hard to bear the emotional weight of leaving the comfort of the life you know, the friends you have and the reality of your every day life. try not to be so hard on yourself and let yourself adjust...boss gifts are always hard. since i worked in a small office and we always listened to music together while we worked i always fell back on music gifts for my boss. Billy Joel box set, Bob Dylan anthology ( or whatever he was into ) etc. so he had some new tunes to listen too throughout the day.

Hope you are getting settled in! I wore fake lashes once, they made my eyes water, but can be very pretty. :)

I used falsies on the wedding day and loved them. Definitely a must do! Sorry you are not feeling motivated...but you are entitled to moments like that. So don't feel guilty about it. Life is all about seasons and phases...if it weren't, it wouldn't be 'real.' Just do what you can, when you can and be okay with that :)

I guarantee it's the move - I just moved across the street and it put me in a funk for almost a month, during which time I stopped exercising altogether and just felt generally "blah."

Boss gift - I think tickets to a sporting event is always a great idea, unless he doesn't like sports.

Hang in there, lady! Sunny skies ahead :)

I've never tried the false eye-lashes either. I'd love to see them on you.

Hope you get everything moved soon. I know it stinks to be living partly in boxes. We moved over 2 years ago and we STILL have some of our things in boxes. Great encouragement, huh?

Have a great evening!

Fake eyelashes are the shizz! Although I am terrible at putting them on myself. Once you've got it down, hook me up with tips!

P.s. I wish I had some motivation to share with you. Perhaps both of ours are on some fancy tropical holiday together?
