Need Your Help Ladies

So the situation is as follows. The day after our wedding is our best man's 30th birthday. I big birthday if you ask me.

We would like to celebrate his birthday at our wedding. While we will have a separate cake for him to blow out candles and such, we want to do something more. Problem is, we don't know what. Short of having a lady jump out of a cake for him, I am stuck for ideas.

What do you ladies think? Any fab ideas to celebrate our best man's birthday at our wedding?

i think having a cake and singing happy birthday is super sweet as it is, I'm sure he'll be touched that you guys made an effort to share your day and acknowledge him! maybe you could see if you can get 30 ladies to line up to give him a kiss on the cheek or something?

I guess it depends how close you are to him or how outgoing he is. If he's a "life of the party" kind of guy perhaps you could do something like Kristy suggested, or some sort of planned song/skit with your friends... it would just depend on him!

I don't know if you guys are planning on having drinks at your wedding or not, but if you are maybe you could name a signature cocktail after him. Like the "Birthday Boy" or something.

I just went to a wedding where it was the bride's birthday and also the father of the bride's birthday. They had everyone sing and did a little cake thing it was cute and didn't really interrupt the wedding celebration.

It’s so nice of you to want to celebrate his birthday at your wedding, although I’m not sure what more you could really do in addition to singing “Happy Birthday” and having a separate cake for him. Maybe a mini-slideshow showcasing your friendship with him? Or presenting him with a special birthday gift after singing to him? I think that as long as you keep it simple and sweet, it will be a great idea.

We have lots of birthdays right around our wedding, and we're going to do a cake for the birthday people and sing them Happy Birthday. Since it's his 30th, what about a brief toast?

Yeah, I don't think you need to do a whole lot more than what the ladies suggested regarding recognizing his birthday. It's my little niece's 1st birthday just 2 days before our wedding and so we are going to have a little mini cupcake and sing happy b-day to her. :) But it is in fact your wedding, so a simple recognition and maybe something fun like the signature drink named after him or lining 30 girls up for a kiss on the cheek is plenty. I love both of those ideas!

This one stumped me at first. I think the cake is a really good idea, but maybe you could also send a bottle of his favorite drink to the room where the guys will be getting ready. Your fiance could do a toast there to honor him, and then follow up with cake/kisses/singing at the wedding. 30 is a big deal, but being someone's best man is an honor as well, so I'm sure he will be pleased with whatever you end up doing for him!

perhaps put together a funny picture/video slide show?

Maybe after the first dance, father daughter dance, and mother son dance you can have a birthday dance? Maybe you can do something similar to when people turn 21 and have 21 body shots taken off of then (but not so frat boy like). Or make him wear something that says birthday boy like a hat or something? The cake is so sweet already.

At 11:59pm everyone can count down (10-9-8...) and then sing happy birthday at the stroke of midnight :)

After that you all can go party somewhere or just keep the party going at the reception (if it is a late reception).

That is really sweet. These ladies have great suggestions. What does he like?

A toast, maybe some pictures of him at the end of your slideshow, a mention in your program, if it's something he'd be cool with, do it!

How nice are you having a cake for him! I am sure he will be stoked with even that alone. I haven't got any brilliant ideas - sorry.

Well, you don't want to take away attention too much from the bride & groom. I think a separate Best Man's Cake, candles and all, is a super idea! I wanted to thank you soooooooo much for stopping by on my Special SITS Day. It's taken me a while to get back, but I hope to see you around the blogosphere again soon!

lol. I'm sure he would love having a lady jump out of a cake! My birthday fell after my friends' wedding a few years ago, they had the band play the Beatles Happy Bd to You...and while it was super sweet, I kinda wish they didn't b/c I wanted it to be their day and all about them. I ended feeling a bit awkward. Just my experience! I think a cake is good enough!

I like the idea of just the cake...maybe something special that's themed? Very sweet of you to celebrate his birthday at your wedding!
