Finally A Post About The DRESS!

*MR.MILK! READ NO FURTHER! And whatever you do, DO NOT click the links!*

I have my heart set on a Pronovias gown. I love them. They are simple, and elegant, and romantic. I can't really imagine having another dress.

I had tried on a few of their dresses over the summer and had thought I had decided on one. But being the indecisive me that I am and wanting to check out the 2010 collection, I decided that going in to try some more dresses would be a wise decision. WRONG! Now I am just plain confused, surprise surprise. So I want to put this out there to my blogger pals and see what you think. I will be posting the links to the pictures of the dresses, as Mr. Milk frequents this blog, and he is not to see the dress till its time.

1. First Dress

I love how romantic this dress is! My only concern is the way the material is bunched at on side. While it looks soft and flowy in the picture, it is more stiff in real life. The bodice of this dress is gorgeous! You can click here to see a picture of how the dress looks from the back

2. Second Dress

Again I love how romantic and elegant this dress is. I think the top is beautiful. If I were to buy this gown, I would have the pleated layer on the bottom removed, I think it doesn't suit the rest of the dress. I asked at the store and was told this can be done. Try to picture it without if you can.

3. Third Dress

This is the dress I tried on in the summer and thought would be the one. Now looking at it, I think it is a little plain and also more expensive than the other two. Here is a view of the dress from the back.  I think the back is what really made me fall for it

Sorry for all the links and clicking ladies. All opinions welcome!

My favorite is the second dress! I did like the first but after reading that the side was stiff I would have to go for the second!

My favorite is definitely the 2nd dress. The first is my runner up and the 3rd is my least favorite. I created external links for my dress post, too! I didn't want to risk Josh seeing my dress before W-Day.

i'm liking the second dress too! good luck! try visiting them again. that helped me decide for good! :)

They are all beautiful... but I'm going against the majority... I like the first dress best =)

I love the 2nd one! I agree that the pleating doesn't suit the rest of the dress. Good luck!

I actually really like the third. The picture of the front wouldn't load, but it looks very classy and elegant and understated from the back. I really like it!

They are all so beautiful but I am tied between 1 and 2, I love the tops on both dresses!!!!

I hear you on Pronovias. I like the first one a lot, with the second in very close competition. (I'm partial to strong necklines myself, but I think the flowyness on both dresses is lovely.) One question: did they actually quote you what it would cost to remove the pleating on number two? I only ask, because while it certainly can be done, my girlfriend recently paid nearly $600 for alterations that "could be done without any problem." Second question: which dress is more comfortable? They're both gorgeous, so I think it comes down to how it feels on and how big the price difference is.

@A Los Angeles Love - I didn't get a quote but did look at their price catalogue for alterations, which wasn't too bad. All three dresses are really comfortable and the price difference between the 1st and 2nd is only $100! I will be booking an appointment to go back (hopefully this Thursday) and try them on again. They have a promo on at the moment where you don't pay tax if you order by Sat, which makes the price even more appealing!

Gosh, they are all so beautiful, I know why you're having a hard time deciding! But I personally like the second one best, without the bottom part.

I think they are all beautiful and you can't go wrong. That said, I like the 2nd one most. I would love to see how they look on you, though, since it can be very different from how it looks on the model.

I love Pronovias as well..gorgeous dresses. I have to say I like the first the best...the reason is I think the neckline is more dramatic and flattering. I also love how the front of the dress flows around to the back but not all the way through the whole train. It's like my gown :) I am all about different and I just think the back is gorgeous on that first one. I also feel like the 2nd one is more 'layered' with the gathers on it where the first seems more 'flowy' and whimsical but with a purpose. I am wondering if the stiffness is something that can be worked out?

I like the 2nd dress the best and I agree that it would probably look better without that bottom portion. They are all stunning though.

I was a Pronovias bride (well La Sposa Frutal to be exact)! Love them...
I also vote for the 2nd without the bottom layer - it looks so ethereal and fun!

I love your blog because a) CHOCOLATE LOVER?! Hello... yes! haha
b) I love love... and anything wedding related :) Can't wait to follow!!

Now, as for the dresses - the second... omgosh... that would be it for me. Those styles are gorgeous. My second fave is the first, and then the third comes in third. Gorgeous though... all of them!

i love #2 the textures are so romantic and airy and lovely. A gown that is classic enough to have a good shelf life in photos while being totally modern and of the moment at the same time - gorgeous!!

Katie said...

I'm a fan of texture...and #2 is just freakin awesome! I love it!

Back online...I still like #3, your original. To me it doesn't look plain, and looks like it has a really nice flowing line.

Also like #2 without the bottom bit, but I would ask them if they have had other alterations without that- and if so, can you see a picture, because it seems that that layer is like a base layer for the lighter see-through top layer. Do they need something under it?

Just something to think about....-:)

all 3 are nice but i like #1 the best. the third is kinda simple and i dont like the veil on and the second one is too much.

I like the first one! The second and third are also beautiful.

I love number 2, as a pronovias bride myself I can say they are worth the money. I love the fabric and it just feels beautiful when you put it on.

Melissa B. said...

Definitely #2! Whichever you choose, I can just tell this is going to be a beautiful occasion...

Mrs T said...

I vote number one. But I like all of them. I totally agree with removing the pleating should you choose the second one. And the back of the third one - breath taking.

Oh too many choices. Good luck!

Beautiful dresses! I think I like the third one best. But it's so difficult so I guess it all depends on what you love on :) Have fun dress shopping!

Wow - yeah, you've got your work cut out for you trying to find the right one. They are all so beautiful but I vote for #2. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and making my SITS day special!

I LOVE pronovias myself so I will be extremely biased and say that I like them all. I like the #1 and #2, I like the side gathers on #1 BUT you have to be comfortable with the fit as it may make your hips wider. I love #2's back, hands down! But again, you can't go wrong with any of them.

Sarah said...

oooh, pretty! I like the first and second. I actually like the pleating but I have weird taste I think.

Third dress, from the back! That is the one.

I am a Pronovias bride too! I wore the Delfin because I had my heart set on a lace dress. You can see the pictures on my blog. I think I like the 2nd best but it is hard to tell without seeing you in them!

Hello fellow bride-to-be and chocolate lover!!! Thanks for visiting my blog:)

All of the dresses are beeeeeautiful, but I love the first one. Trying on dresses was the best feeling in the world. I wish I had taken more time to get mine, like you are. I literally bought one from the first store that I went to,the first day that i went out shopping. I think I tried on about 10 dresses. I love my dress but I wish I had looked a little further to continue the fun.
